dogs like homemade dog beds, u can just use old fabric from ur clothes or blankets, & sew a circle bed about 2-3 times the size of the dog. Stuff with old pillow filling, & get yourself a new pillow. They like the stuff that smells like you.

Also, a tennis ball inside a sock is a great toy. Ball, sock, two favorite things that dogs like, & u can make that in about three seconds.

When u get groceries, ask the butcher if he has any large bones. Roast them in the oven to cook a little, then let them go for it.

Our dogs love apples, as a toy & then a snack, or dried banana chips. Get those at a bulk food store for people, & they r cheaper.

My dog loves it when we sit under the willow tree & i weave little wreaths that he uses as a frisbee & then a chew toy. Free. Bunny likes them too.

Dollar stores sometimes ahve good deals in the pet aisle, but steer clear of the food stuff. They have chew toys, & these great little rope & cloth frisbees. Any stuffed animal is a good toy, & u can get them used for a quarter a piece at a thrift shop. Dogs really do not care about price, so u can get creative. They just mostly want u on the other end of an odd sock. Attention is their favorite toy.

It depends on how big & strong ur dog is. Smaller dogs r fine with home made toys like stuffed canvas or fake fur but larger dogs will take those apart.

You can find inexpensive toys at Walgreens for $2/each or at discount stores. You can get rope cut to length at hardware stores & knot the end to prevent fraying although rope toys r really inexpensive at Dollar Stores or at drug stores so it may not be worth making them.

Tennis balls r always good & very inexpensive as r cardboard boxes to play in & tear up but not to eat. Soft fabrics r easy for a dog to put a canine through & rip up but u can try some old denim from jeans knotted into balls.

Plastic water bottles (empty) r fun for some dogs but they r really noisy.

Your dog will tell you. My young dog likes yogurt containers and old socks - so I cut a hole in a clean dry yogurt container and threaded an old pair of socks through that, and tied in a knot.
My 6 yr old dog, though, would not ever play with a thing like that (too noisy; too big) He likes a discarded leather glove that he is ripped the lining from. Crazy but true!

Try tying old towel strips into knots.

Stuff a men is tube sock with a replacement squeaker (available at petsmart) and stuffing from the craft store. Stuff it REALLY tightly and sew it together.

My dog loves empty water bottles as well.

Well, go to a fabric store & buy some colored fleece. Green & Red for Christmas or even blue & white for Chanukah. Braid the felt together until it is about 8 to 14 inches long. Then give to ur dog! They love these because they can play tug with them, & it also is soft & easy to chew.soothes sore gums!

Each strip of felt should be about .5 to 1 inch wide, but if u have a very small dog, make sure ur strips r thin, & if the dog is very large, u should make the strips about 4 inches & then fold it in half length wise to make it thicker as well. Good luck making dog toys!

1)go to the hardware store
2)buy tuff but thin rope
3) cut the rope in 3 long pieces
4) braid the rope
5) find a way to tie the rope at both ends
make the toy on the dogs size
big dog big toy
small dog small toy
rope cost about 3 dollars
and i use fishishing line to tie the ends so it dosnt fall apart =)

One of my dogs favorite toys was an old cotton sock with a knot tied in it. If there is a dollar store in your area, you'd be surprised at the neat dog toys they have! $10 would buy a bunch!

You can get toys at the dollar store, or sometimes Target has sales for dog toys instead for pretty cheap! Otherwise, you can use an old sock and put a ball at the end and then tie it at the top.. or they like ropes that have knots in them.

hope i helped! :-D
